Set up Vault

A vault is your encrypted data safe for precious metal holdings. Find out how to create your first vault here.

What is a vault?

A Vault is a stand-alone, encrypted container for your portfolio. You can have multiple vaults - for example:

  • 🏠 One for private Precious metals
  • 🏢 One for business Stocks
  • 👨‍👩‍👧 One for Family assets

Every Vault has its own password and is completely independently encrypted.

Create Vault

Step 1: Open Vault Manager

After logging in to the account dashboard:

  1. Click in the sidebar on „Vault Manager“
  2. Click on „+ New Vault“

Step 2: Assign a Vault name

Give your Vault a name, e.g:

  • „My portfolio“
  • „Private“
  • „Investment 2024“

Step 3: Create Vault password

Now comes the most important step: the Vault password.

🔴 CRITICAL - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

The Vault password is the only key to your data.

  • It will not saved - no one can restore it
  • Without a password, your data is lost forever
  • We as the operator can also not help

Password requirements

Your Vault password must meet the following criteria:

✅ At least 12 characters
✅ Capital letters (A-Z)
✅ Lower case (a-z)
✅ Figures (0-9)
✅ Special characters (!@#$%^&*…)

Examples of good passwords

❌ BAD:

  • password123 - Too easy, in the dictionary
  • MyGold2024 - Too predictable
  • qwertz!!!! - Keyboard pattern

✅ GOOD:

  • kR9$mP2#vL8@tF5! - Randomly generated
  • My-Secret3r!Vault - Passphrase with special characters
  • 2024!Gold#Silber$Pt - Personal but complex
💡 Recommendation:
Use a Password manager such as Bitwarden, 1Password or KeePass to securely store your Vault password.

Step 4: Accept confirmation

You must confirm before the vault is created:

☑️ „I understand that my Vault password cannot be recovered and that I am solely responsible for keeping it safe.“

Step 5: Create Vault

Click on „Create Vault“. Your Vault will now:

  1. Provided with a unique salt
  2. Your password converted into an encryption key (PBKDF2)
  3. Created in the database

🎉 Done! You will be automatically redirected to your new Vault.

Unlocking the Vault

You must unlock your Vault with the password each time you visit:

  1. Select the Vault from the Vault Manager
  2. Enter your Vault password
  3. Click on „Unlock“

Option: Stay logged in

Activate „Stay logged in (24h)“, to unlock the Vault for 24 hours. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the Vault is still automatically locked.

Keep your password safe

Recommended strategies:

  1. Password manager - Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePassXC
  2. Paper backup - Sealed envelope in the safe
  3. Encrypted file - On external memory
  4. Emergency plan - Will for heirs
