You can use the import function to restore a previous backup or transfer data to a new Vault.
Start import
- Go to „Export“ in the sidebar
- Scroll to the section „Import“
- Click on „Select file“
- Select your JSON export file
- Click on „Start import“

Import options
Option 1: Replace
All existing data in the Vault is replaced by the imported data.
Option 2: Merge
Imported data is added to the existing data. Duplicates are recognized and skipped.
⚠️ Attention with „Replace“:
This option irrevocably deletes all existing data in the Vault. Create a backup beforehand!

- Create a new Vault (new password possible)

Import fails?
- Check whether the file is a valid JSON file
- Check whether the file originates from Precious Metals Vault
- Try an older export
