Find out how to create your first vault here.<\/p>\n<h2>What is a vault?<\/h2>\n<p>A <strong>Vault<\/strong> is a stand-alone, encrypted container for your portfolio. You can have multiple vaults - for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\ud83c\udfe0 One for <strong>private<\/strong> Precious metals<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udfe2 One for <strong>business<\/strong> Stocks<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83d\udc69\u200d\ud83d\udc67 One for <strong>Family assets<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every Vault has its <strong>own password<\/strong> and is completely independently encrypted.<\/p>\n<h2>Create Vault<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1: Open Vault Manager<\/h3>\n<p>After logging in to the account dashboard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click in the sidebar on <strong>\u201eVault Manager\u201c<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>\u201e+ New Vault\u201c<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 2: Assign a Vault name<\/h3>\n<p>Give your Vault a name, e.g:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201eMy portfolio\u201c<\/li>\n<li>\u201ePrivate\u201c<\/li>\n<li>\u201eInvestment 2024\u201c<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step 3: Create Vault password<\/h3>\n<p>Now comes the most important step: the <strong>Vault password<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"error-box\" style=\"background: #fef2f2; border-left: 4px solid #ef4444; padding: 15px 20px; margin: 20px 0; border-radius: 0 8px 8px 0;\"><strong>\ud83d\udd34 CRITICAL - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Vault password is the <strong>only key<\/strong> to your data.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 0;\">\n<li>It will <strong>not saved<\/strong> - no one can restore it<\/li>\n<li>Without a password, your data is <strong>lost forever<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We as the operator can also <strong>not help<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Password requirements<\/h4>\n<p>Your Vault password must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; margin: 20px 0;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb; width: 30px;\">\u2705<\/td>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\"><strong>At least 12 characters<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\">\u2705<\/td>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\"><strong>Capital letters<\/strong> (A-Z)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\">\u2705<\/td>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\"><strong>Lower case<\/strong> (a-z)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\">\u2705<\/td>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\"><strong>Figures<\/strong> (0-9)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\">\u2705<\/td>\n<td style=\"padding: 10px; border-bottom: 1px solid #e5e7eb;\"><strong>Special characters<\/strong> (!@#$%^&amp;*\u2026)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h4>Examples of good passwords<\/h4>\n<p>\u274c <strong>BAD:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>password123<\/code> - Too easy, in the dictionary<\/li>\n<li><code>MyGold2024<\/code> - Too predictable<\/li>\n<li><code>qwertz!!!!<\/code> - Keyboard pattern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2705 <strong>GOOD:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>kR9$mP2#vL8@tF5!<\/code> - Randomly generated<\/li>\n<li><code>My-Secret3r!Vault<\/code> - Passphrase with special characters<\/li>\n<li><code>2024!Gold#Silber$Pt<\/code> - Personal but complex<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"info-box\" style=\"background: #f0f9ff; border-left: 4px solid #3b82f6; padding: 15px 20px; margin: 20px 0; border-radius: 0 8px 8px 0;\"><strong>\ud83d\udca1 Recommendation:<\/strong><br \/>\nUse a <strong>Password manager<\/strong> such as Bitwarden, 1Password or KeePass to securely store your Vault password.<\/div>\n<h3>Step 4: Accept confirmation<\/h3>\n<p>You must confirm before the vault is created:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"background: #f8f9fa; border-left: 4px solid #6b7280; padding: 15px 20px; margin: 20px 0; font-style: italic;\"><p>\u2611\ufe0f \u201eI understand that my Vault password cannot be recovered and that I am solely responsible for keeping it safe.\u201c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Step 5: Create Vault<\/h3>\n<p>Click on <strong>\u201eCreate Vault\u201c<\/strong>. Your Vault will now:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Provided with a unique salt<\/li>\n<li>Your password converted into an encryption key (PBKDF2)<\/li>\n<li>Created in the database<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\ud83c\udf89 <strong>Done!<\/strong> You will be automatically redirected to your new Vault.<\/p>\n<h2>Unlocking the Vault<\/h2>\n<p>You must unlock your Vault with the password each time you visit:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the Vault from the Vault Manager<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Vault password<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>\u201eUnlock\u201c<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Option: Stay logged in<\/h3>\n<p>Activate <strong>\u201eStay logged in (24h)\u201c<\/strong>, to unlock the Vault for 24 hours. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the Vault is still automatically locked.<\/p>\n<h2>Keep your password safe<\/h2>\n<p>Recommended strategies:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Password manager<\/strong> - Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePassXC<\/li>\n<li><strong>Paper backup<\/strong> - Sealed envelope in the safe<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encrypted file<\/strong> - On external memory<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emergency plan<\/strong> - Will for heirs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Next steps<\/h2>\n<p>Your Vault is set up!
